The market offers a wide range of investment solutions that allow you to obtain and maintain a residence permit without the need to be physically present in the country. However, none of them offers such favorable conditions for obtaining European citizenship as Portugal:

• There is no requirement to reside in Portugal;
  
  

• To obtain a Portuguese passport, you must hold a residence permit for 5 years and have a basic knowledge of Portuguese.
  
  

At present, there are two investment residence permit programs in Portugal:

1. Obtaining a Portuguese residence permit on the basis of highly qualified activity (HQA). This option involves conducting joint research work with the inviting university.

2. Obtaining a Portuguese residence permit through real estate investment. This option involves purchasing any real estate property in the country.
