New visa requirements in the UAE
It is now no longer possible to extend a tourist visa without leaving the country. Numerous sources report that the UAE authorities have abolished the concessions introduced in connection with the coronavirus pandemic.

According to publicly available sources, at present it is only possible to extend one’s stay in the country in Dubai after 90 days of stay. However, there is a risk of the extension being denied, in which case it will be necessary to leave the country. In the other emirates, this option is currently unavailable.

In November of this year, the fine for overstaying tourist visas was reduced to AED 50 per day. In the event of overstaying a tourist visa by more than 30 days, a person may face arrest.

Arrest also applies to the holder of a residence visa who fails to change status or leave the country within 6 months after the visa expires.
